Located 9 Km north from the Kathmandu valley, the drive to Budhanilkantha takes 30 to 45 minutes. Budhanilkantha is a Hindu religious site dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The 5-meter tall stone structure is lodged in the middle of the pool and is adorned with a crown engraved with the images of Kirtimukha. After paying a short visit to the Hindu site, you will head on a 15km long journey towards the conservation site. Walking through the trail, you will first register at the park entry gate and enjoy the pleasant walk towards the Buddhist site, Nagi Gompa. At the Buddhist Nunnery, Nagi Gompa, nuns from the Himalayan region come to study and meditate in the peaceful environment of the area. Chat with them and continue your journey towards the highest point of the hike. The journey continues to traverse through the lush woodlands of the Pine and rhododendron where the melodious chirping of the birds continues to accompany you.
