The day hike starts with an early morning transfer to the vantage point, Nagarkot. Nagarkot has been a popular destination among the visitors solely for its remarkable beauty and outstanding sights. One can witness the magnificent sights of Mount Everest, Ganesh, Langtang, and Gaurishankar on a clear day. Apart from this, the sunrise view is even more pleasing to the eyes.
After spending sometimes in the hillock, you will head on a journey to Changu Narayan. The trail to the endpoint of this hike traverses through the ethnic village settlements and lush forests and then finally to the UNESCO site, Changu Narayan. Built by Lichavi King Mandeva, it is the oldest temple in the history of Nepal. The temple has temples and shrines dating back to 4 to 9th century and is mainly dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Visit the site and get an insight on each of the temples including the Chinnamasta temple, dedicated to Chinnamasta Devi who offered her blood to the starving Dakini and Varnini. As you finish touring around the site, you will join for lunch in the restaurant and then transferred to your Hotel room in Kathmandu.
